Structural Surveys have a requirement for a Principal Structural Engineer with extensive experience in structural design to join a growing and successful dynamic business. The role is Technical Lead for the design team. Reporting to the Managing Director, this role will be instrumental in the growth of the company.

DUTIES:

Reporting to the Managing Director and providing progress reports
Technical Lead for the design team, including design approvals, coaching and mentoring
Providing Expert Witness services
Supporting the Managing Director when required
Assisting with business development of the company to drive growth
Assisting in the recruitment process for new technical staff
Developing new ideas to help shape the future of the business

EDUCATION/KNOWLEDGE:

Degree qualified Civil/Structural Engineer
Experience in the inspection of buildings and reporting on structural defects
Excellent knowledge of traditional and non-traditional construction
Wide ranging structural design experience covering steel, concrete, masonry and timber
Chartered Civil/Structural Engineer MIStructE or MICE
Historic Buildings experience (desirable)
Expert Witness experience
Buildings insurance claims experience (desirable)
Proficient in IT systems
