Structural Surveys
We have gained years of experience in inspecting all forms of buildings and structures, across most market sectors. Our experts have been responsible for the design of buildings, the supervision of their construction and the diagnosis of building defects.
We have a progressive approach to our structural surveys. Our reports are different. We use digital tablet technology to create our reports live on site, ensuring accuracy and rapid delivery to our clients. Our output is clear and concise, backed up by practical recommendations and advice, that will allow you to make well informed decisions.
Working closely with our network of collaborative professional partners, Structural Surveys can inspect and report on virtually any type of building.
We cover all locations in the North West of England, North Wales, the North East of England and the East Midlands. Our coverage reaches Greater Manchester, Liverpool, Warrington, Chester, Crew, Stoke, Preston, Leeds, York, Doncaster, Sheffield, Rotherham, Nottingham, Derby, Hull, Chesterfield, Mansfield, Worksop, Middlesbrough and surrounding areas.
Residential
Whether you require a structural survey for peace of mind, or as a condition of your mortgage application, our expert advice will prove invaluable to you.
We can either look at a specific defect to the property or carry out a full structural survey. We can also offer just a verbal report, prior to an auction.
Our structural engineers have experience of both traditional and non-traditional forms of construction, including precast concrete houses, steel framed system built houses or timber framed houses.
Our expert structural reports are based on a detailed, non-intrusive, visual examination of the property. However, for non-traditional forms of construction, it is often necessary to carry out further intrusive investigation and testing, and we can advise on this.
Commercial
We work with corporate clients, assisting them in managing their asset portfolios.
This includes:
- Pre-acquisition structural surveys
- Due Diligence reports
- Development advice
- Structural feasibility studies for planned alterations
- Schedules of Condition
Where access proves difficult, we collaborate closely with our network of industry experts, and are able to make use of drones, high rise rope access and marine divers, to facilitate the survey.
Insurance Claims
Our structural engineers have provided technical support for several years in relation to domestic and commercial buildings that have been affected by subsidence, flooding, fire damage and vehicle impact.
We work with property owners, Insurers and Loss Adjusters to:
- Assess the cause and extent of structural damage
- Undertake monitoring programmes of subsidence damaged buildings
- Arrange geotechnical investigations
- Arrange materials testing
- Arrange CCTV surveys of drainage systems
- Prepare schedules and specifications for repair
- Arrange and manage tenders for completing repairs
