Structural Surveys Limited were appointed by Recresco Limited to assess serious structural damage caused by a major fire at their Ellesmere Port site. Recresco use leading edge technology to recycle glass products. Over 200 fire fighters took 5 days to extinguish the fire.
We were appointed to use laser scanning to obtain 3D data and convert this into 2D drawings of the damaged buildings. Our team then completed a full, detailed structural survey to assess and record damage to all steel frames and concrete structures. We followed this by carrying out detailed structural analysis of all steelwork to assess the residual stability of the affected frames and to prepare recommendations for essential remedial works.
This was a great combined effort involving close collaboration between our survey and design business streams.
